Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 12. April 2026

Welcome to SnapDish. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information we collect. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data currently and how we intend to handle it as we introduce new features like web platforms, recipe sharing, and advertising.

1. Introduction

SnapDish (referred to as "we," "us," or "our") provides a recipe storage and organization service. By using our mobile application and any future web platforms (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide a better experience for all our users.

A. Information You Provide to Us

Current (Local-First):

Currently, SnapDish does not require an account. Any recipe titles, notes, or tags you enter are stored locally on your device.

Future (Web/Account-Based):

When we introduce our web platform and sharing features, we may collect:

Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture.

Shared Content: Recipes, screenshots, and metadata you explicitly choose to "publish" or "share" to the community library.

B. Information Collected Automatically

To improve app performance and support future advertising, we may collect:

Usage Data: Information on how the Service is accessed (e.g., app version, device type, and time spent in-app).

Identifiers: Device identifiers (like IDFA for iOS or AAID for Android) and IP addresses, primarily for analytics and ad-serving purposes.

Cookies (Web Platform): For our future web platform, we will use cookies to maintain your session and remember your preferences.

C. Image Data and OCR

On-Device Processing:

Our OCR (Optical Character Recognition) currently runs locally on your device. SnapDish does not "see" your screenshots unless you choose to upload them to a shared platform in the future.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for various purposes:

To provide and maintain the Service

Ensuring your recipes stay organized.

To enable sharing

Allowing you to view and save recipes from the community to your local library.

To show advertisements

We may use your non-sensitive identifiers to show relevant ads to support the free tier of the Service.

To improve the Service

Analyzing usage patterns to fix bugs and design new features.

4. Data Storage and Transfer

Local Storage:

By default, your data is stored on your device. We do not have access to your private, non-shared recipes.

Cloud Storage (Future):

If you use sharing features or cross-device syncing, your data will be stored on secure servers. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of information to servers located outside your country of residence.

5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in the following cases:

With Your Consent: When you choose to make a recipe "Public" on our web platform.

Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies (e.g., Firebase for database hosting or AdMob for advertising) to facilitate our Service.

Legal Requirements: If required by law to comply with legal obligations or protect our rights.

6. Advertising and Third-Party Services

The Service may contain advertisements. These ad partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your interests.

You can opt-out of interest-based advertising through your device settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS).

Our future web platform may use third-party analytics (like Google Analytics) to monitor and analyze web traffic.

7. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access/Portability: Request a copy of the data we have on you.

Deletion: Request that we delete your account and shared recipes.

Opt-out: Object to the processing of your data for marketing or advertising.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at contact@arsoftware.tech.

8. Children's Privacy

SnapDish does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
